It has begun!!!

Gofing season has officially started in La Crosse. I played my first round over spring break. WOW, I need a lot of work. My muscles are actually sore from playing golf. I stopped keeping track of my score after the fourth hole. Oh well. This is why golf is so fun, for so many people, because you can always get better. If you think you are terrible, and are embarrassed to play, fear not, there are a lot of people who have been golfing for a long time, that quite frankly, suck. Hope to see you on the course!

A Lesson in Golf Lessons

I have made it clear that I am not an expert golfer. I'm not even very good. When my girlfriend asked me to take golfing lessons with her, I refused. I continued to play all of last summer without taking a lesson. While my game improved a lot, I developed some bad habits. Habits that a golf instructor would have noticed and corrected. I guess I am a typical man, I never want to ask for directions, because I'm never lost... I also don't want to take any lessons, because I know what I'm doing...

Golf Course Business!

One reason I originally started golfing is because my boss told me too. Not only is golf enjoyable to play with friends, A LOT of business meetings happen on the golf course. Not just business meetings, A LOT of sales are made on the golf course. I don't want to look like a fool and blow a possible sale because I can't golf. My boss claims that 25% of his business dealing are done on the course. What a way to wine and dine potential customers, get drunk, drive around (in a cart), and have fun in the sun, while hitting some balls toward some holes. Would you rather have a meeting in a conference room, or outside on the golf course.

Is it Spring yet?

Is it Spring yet? I wish. Here in Wisconsin we have to endure a long winter, anxiously waiting to pull out the golf clubs and hit the course. While stuck inside I try to practice golfing as much as possible. For Christmas I got a put-return-machine. While I realize my living room carpet isn't exactly like a real putting green, I think it has helped. I also used to work on my swing inside. My girlfriend put a stop to this after I shatterd the living room light on my back swing... oops. I am not the only one. I always hear about men breaking windows and light fixtures trying to work on their golf game in-doors. Last week my girlfriends dad put a golf ball through his living room window. To the delight of my landlord, Spring is almost here and I can take my golf game out doors.

Go Get'em Tiger!

I am sick of hearing about Tiger Woods, and his situation. For one, Tigers life is nobodies business, but his own. I hate how American society digs so deep into celebrities personal lifes. Of coarse I don't agree with what Tiger did, but why does everybody care sooo much. I'm not mad at Tiger for cheating on his wife(not my problem), but I am frusturated with how he handled the situation. Fist he checks into sex rehab, claiming he's addicted to sex. Well isn't anybody with a pair a testicles addicted to sex. All men are dogs, But Mr. Woods is a Tiger. A testosterone raging, Sex addicted Tiger. Most men just don't have the opportunity to act on this "addiction." I don't like that Tiger avoided the public for so long afterward. If he would have came right out and explained, then appologized, people could start getting over it. The longer he waited, the more rumors started to surface. Lastly Tiger gave a "press confrence" which wasnt really a press confence at all. Because Tiger is treated like a god, he was able to avoid any situation he didnt want to be a part of. Everybody needs to move on, and let Tiger live his life. We all know Tiger has "game," but now we are all waiting to see how this will effect his golf game. Much debate and media coverage has souronded Tiger Woods, the golfer with the most game. How do you feel about what Tiger has done?
